She is passionate about using a genuine, non-judgmental approach that honors the intersecting elements of your identity and lived experience. Her goal is to help clients navigate complex emotions, challenging relationships, and the nuanced obstacles of the human experience. She draws from psychodynamic and evidence-based frameworks with the goal of welcoming opportunities for personal reflection and change. Hazel empowers her patients to explore all aspects of who they are and culminates in their ability to live life they way that they want.

Hazel Sherin holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. During her undergraduate studies, she also pursued an advanced BA/MA dual degree in psychology from The New School for Social Research, where she participated in research on childhood-caregiver attachment styles and their correlation to later attachment styles in adulthood. 

Hazel has experience working in private and group practice settings, helping individuals and couples. Additionally, she received training at a community psychiatric hospital specializing in the treatment of schizophrenia and crisis management for individuals experiencing homelessness. Her comprehensive understanding of various levels of care has provided her with a range of clinical skills and a well-rounded perspective on mental healthcare.
